Sky Sports: Formula 1 and Tottenham Hotspur agree partnership that will include new indoor karting track below stadium
Americans will no doubt be familiar with the concept of a “multi-purpose stadium,” but in the tradition-rich world of English soccer, it’s still a relatively new concept … unless, of course, you’re visiting Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (est. April 2019), the state-of-the-art venue that hosts visiting NFL games, concerts, and now, an F1-sponsored indoor karting track. Says Spurs chairman Daniel Levy: "Since building this stadium our ambition has always been to see how far we can push the boundaries in delivering world-class experiences that will attract people from around the world all year round.” It’s all part of Levy and Co.’s brave new vision for what a soccer club and its stadium can be, and represents a worthwhile case study for any sports organization looking to broaden its commercial appeal to new demographics of fans and attendees.
